The F-86 Sabre was one of the first jet fighters ever built. With its swept wings and superb combat performance in the Korean War, it has become a highly recognisable icon amongst early jet fighters. After shooting down two MiG-15s during this conflict, Lieutenant Jim Thompson recognised a dragon painted on the side of one of them and decided to paint a similar dragon on the side of his F-86 Sabre. This painted dragon become known as 'The Huff’ and the E-flite UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF has this livery factory applied so you too can take to the skies in the same striking waterfall design.

The E-flite UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF has a fully moulded airframe featuring gun ports, panel lines and other scale finishes that you wouldn't see on other ultra micro class models, let alone some larger scale models. To meet the EDF performance expectations of today's RC jet flyer, the F-86 has been optimized and updated and now features a 4S LiPo-compatible power system which makes it the highest-performing ultra-micro version of this jet model produced.
To assist pilots when their E-flite UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF is in the air it is equipped with two different features that make flying safer and easier. The first is the optional use of SAFE Select technology. This offers the pilot bank angle and pitch limits along with self-levelling which will activate automatically in the event your Sabre takes a turn for the worst. This can be turned on and off with the flip of a switch as needed. The second is expertly tuned AS3X technology built into your Spektrum receiver. This exclusive technology helps control the effects of turbulence and wind by making hundreds of tiny adjustments behind the scenes to help keep your E-flite UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF stabilised and to give you the locked-in feel of a much larger RC aircraft.
To keep the pilot up to date with remaining battery life/flight time the flight controller/control unit on the E-flite UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF is equipped with a Spektrum receiver and ESC that utilises Smart technology to give you battery voltage plus other telemetry data. You will need to have a compatible transmitter that has had the Spektrum AirWare app downloaded onto it to utilise this technology. Compatible transmitters include DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, the iX12 to 20, and others.
The lightweight and durable airframe on the E-flite UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF is constructed with composite-reinforced EPS material that can handle some lumps and bumps but is also easily repairable with foam-safe/odourless CA and other foam-friendly adhesives. Given the ultra micro size of the RC F-86 Sabre, it means you can fly it in smaller spaces and more places than most other EDF-equipped models.

Skill Level 2 – Some Experience Required
Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up and/or fly similar class models. And although this is one of the easiest to fly F-86 models yet, it’s not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or first-ever EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) jet model for intermediate to experienced RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly simpler EDF models like the E-flite Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm or 70mm before attempting to fly the UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF.
